Ep. 97: Still don’t @ me

Aroldis Chapman is back and will be a Yankee until at least the end of the decade. After the news broke late Wednesday night, Tanya and I did an emergency podcast. There are so many problems with this, even if one is ignoring the domestic violence issues (which we don’t). So... we had a lot to say about him, the state of the Yankees, how much paying for a closer actually makes sense, and also the uncertain future.
Once again, don’t @ us.

Ep. 96: One last #dale, a bleak free agent market, and #HolidayHotTakes

We did not miss much since our last podcast! The Brian McCann trade happened (farewell, #dale) and some minor roster moves happened here and there that came up during the podcast. We complained about the free agent market and how next year’s isn’t looking so hot either. So it goes. At [42:12] though, we got into some #HolidayHotTakes about our favorite and least favorite treats and songs for this time of year, so be sure to check those out. Shade was thrown. Enjoy.

Ep. 95: AFL and candy wars

So the season's been long over! Welp. The crew talks a little bit about the season and then delves into the Arizona Fall League fun with Greg Bird, James Kaprielian, and Gleyber Torres (okay, mostly Greg Bird). Andrew Miller came up too because we miss him. Then we spent like 40 minutes discussing Halloween candy and the map here! It’s fun to mix it up from pure baseball talk every now and then, especially in the off-season.

Ep. 94: Billy Butler OUT OF NOWHERE

Caitlin joined us on the podcast for the first time! We had plenty to discuss with the Yankees in the playoff race, from Billy Butler's random appearances to the Gary Sanchez Show, end-of-season predictions, and more.

Ep. 93: The hot mess of the Wild Card race

Three years after his last PSA podcast appearances, Tanya and I invited Mark Brown of Camden Chat back to the show with both teams in the Wild Card race. We talked about the state of the Orioles, #TeamEntropy, the playoff picture and Mark's post on the rough road ahead, and yes, a brief sad postmortem on the Scott Feldman trade.

Ep. 92: The Rodcast

The day is here! Alex Rodriguez's career finale is tonight, so we celebrated with a new podcast. Tanya, Jason, and I were joined by long-time community member NoMahbles (Sean) in a lengthy A-Rod discussion. Topics that came up included his crappy treatment by the Yankees down the stretch, his mixed reputation among fans despite being a terrific teammate, criticism of well-paid players, and the hypocritical treatment compared to the likes of Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, and Reggie Jackson.

If you'd rather jump straight to our roundtable of our favorite A-Rod moments, jump to 33:50. Either way, this whole podcast was a lot of fun to record, so enjoy.

Ep. 91: The Great Yankees Fire Sale of 2016

The Yankees actually sold at the deadline for the first time in over two decades! So let’s talk about the new-look Yanks and the exciting prospects in the works (also Mark Teixeira being peak dad in a random Subway Series game).

Thursday 30 June 2016

Ep. 90: Valar morghulis

The crew vents pretty hard about the general state of the Yankees particularly the frustrating corporate faces like president Randy Levine, whose knack for interference in the team’s baseball affairs is completely obnoxious. Take note that since we recorded during what seemed like a forgettable sluggish loss and a four-game losing streak appeared imminent, we were probably more nihilistic than usual.

Ep. 89: The mystery of Coldhands Carlos

The Yankees are back in a fierce slump. We are displeased. Topics discussed include (in no particular order) the slump, Mark Teixeira’s injury, the 2016 draft class, a possible seller’s market, Yankees first basemen as Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers, the secret behind Carlos Beltran’s renaissance, Tanya’s controversial hot dog opinions, and Jason seemingly getting run over by a motorcycle live on the podcast. We went places.

Ep. 88: Rampant cockroach infestation

Michael Pineda is awful! Mark Teixeira is now a worse Lyle Overbay! Ivan Nova might have caused a "rampant cockroach infestation!" THE YANKEES ARE GREAT.

Friday 13 May 2016

Ep. 87: Don't @ me

The podcast returns for the first time in the 2016 regular season! Pull up a chair and maybe a drink. Considering the Yankees' early results, I'd encourage that drink.

Ep. 86: The Baseball Prospectus Guessing Game

First off, the 2016 Baseball Prospectus Annual is here! Go buy it. It's not that expensive and has a ton of fun player comments and projections. The good folks at the Defensive Indifference podcast have a tradition of turning the comments into a game, challenging each other to guess the correct player associated with BP's thoughts. So Tanya, Jason, and I brought it here! Enjoy. Or be frightened.

Ep. 85: "Wilkerman is the alpha baby"

The podcast is back with Jason, Tanya, and Andrew to talk about Pinstripe Alley's top 20 Yankees prospects! Be afraid.
